"Help Me help Them"

2ND Annual Fundraiser 2012 for Tiny Paws Dog Rescue Canada. This is to introduce us to the public and educate people on what and why we do what we do. Last year I was able to send TPDR close to $400 this year I am aiming for at least $600 if not more :). This is something I will be doing every year. More on the event will be added as I get more info on donations, ticket money for draw and more. Stay tuned for more.

This year I am doing something abit different, last year I made 2 baskets one for a dog and one for cats- this year I am donating 2 gifts that are worth $55.00 each and adding a couple of toys for the fur-babies.

Tickets this year will be sold starting now and on the days of event, $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. If you would like to get in on the draw please let me know you can pay by Pay Pal or what ever means you may have. I am all so asking for donations of small items (toys, bowls, etc) to sell at this 2 days event, Last year I was able to give TPDR around $400 this year I am aiming for at least $700 or more! I know we can do it all names that make donations or by tickets will be posted as time goes on and of course the day of the draws for the winners!

I RESCUED A HUMAN TODAY!

Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels.

I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her. I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid.

As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in
the back of my cage.  I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.  As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life.  She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her.

Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship.
A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well. Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms.

I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side.

I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle
in her eyes.  I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor.

So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors.

So many more to be saved; At least I could save one.

I rescued a human today.
